EMMA BERS
Chicago-based graphic designer, Emma Bers, taught herself how to use photoshop during lockdown.
Feeling nostalgic for the live music that disappeared at this time, she started making posters inspired by her favourite bands and albums.
She describes her own style as “colourful, youthful, messy and fun” offering a fresh perspective on the design industry.
Emma’s main tools are Play Doh, construction paper and pastels.
“If I’m not having fun, I scrap it”
Emma’s playful style and carefree approach to design is what appealed to me most.
I like to explore new and different processes, blending the analog and digital.
Her use of Play Doh type and shapes reinforces the joy of design and encourages creativity, taking away the pressure of perfectionism.
